New Features

Vienna 2.1 introduces a host of new features. The most significant ones are described here. See the full changelist at the end for the detailed list of changes.

Unified Layout Unified Layout
In addition to the existing report and condensed layouts, Vienna 2.1 introduces a new layout called Unified which displays all articles in one single pane for quick reading.
Article Filtering Article Filtering
Filter the displayed articles by all articles, unread articles, articles retrieved today or only those articles retrieved since the last refresh. A popup menu on the article list header makes it easy to switch between all four filter modes.
Article Filtering Blogging Integration
Quickly blog the selected article. Vienna automatically recognises the most common blogging software and launches the software with the details of the selected article pre-filled.
Manual Folder Reordering Manual Folder Reordering
Whereas Vienna 2.0 automatically sorted the subscriptions in the folder list alphabetically, version 2.1 now introduces manual folder reordering. You can now drag and drop the subscriptions in the folder list any way you want.
Improved Browser Bar Improved Browser Bar
The built-in web browser has been enhanced in Vienna 2.1 to include back and forward buttons, a refresh button and an address bar. A new Open Web Location command on the File menu makes it easy to quickly open the built-in web browser to any URL you wish.
New Get Info Window New Get Info Window
The new Get Info command on the File menu brings up a Info window that provides one stop display of a feed's link, description, count of articles and options for editing the authentication info for protected feeds. (The Validate Feed command has been moved from the File menu to the Info window.)
Enhanced Condensed Layout Enhanced Condensed Layout
The condensed layout has been enhanced in 2.1. You can now control which fields are displayed in the article list. A new Summary field has been added which shows the first part of the article so you can more quickly browse the article list.
